What is Tic-Tac-Toe?
Tic-Tac-Toe, also known as Three Wins or Crosses and Circles, is a simple but strategic game for two players. The aim is to place three of your own symbols in a row – horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

You can choose between a game against the AI or a game against a friend directly in the browser. You can control the game conveniently with the mouse or by tapping on your smartphone.

The best strategy in tic-tac-toe is to proceed systematically in order to either win or at least force a draw. If both players play optimally, every game ends in a draw. Here are the most important steps:
Center first (if possible):
When you have the first turn, always start with the middle square. This gives you the most control over the playing field.
Corner instead of edge (if center is occupied):
If you are playing second and the center is already occupied, choose a corner. Corners give you more winning opportunities than the sides.
Blocking is mandatory:
Always observe whether the opponent could win with the next move – and block this possibility immediately.
Create a double threat:
Try to create situations where you can win in two ways with your next move – your opponent can only block one.
Maintain central control:
If possible, keep the center or adjacent fields under control to have more influence on the game.
Do not play randomly:
Avoid moves on marginal squares without strategic advantage. Every move should be aimed at a clear plan: Victory or blockade.
This strategy makes you unbeatable in classic 3×3 tic-tac-toe – unless your opponent also plays optimally, in which case the game ends in a draw.
